Heat Treatment Guide & Properties
SS316 is generally supplied in the annealed condition. Heat treatment is mainly used for stress relieving and to restore corrosion resistance after welding. Rapid cooling after annealing is important to prevent carbide precipitation and maintain corrosion resistance.

■ Chemical Composition
