■ Chemical Composition
D3 tool steel features high chromium content that forms hard carbides, providing outstanding wear resistance. The high carbon content increases hardness and edge retention. Small additions of Vanadium and Molybdenum improve toughness and help maintain performance under heavy loads. This composition makes D3 suitable for heavy-duty cutting tools and dies.
■ Mechanical Properties
D3 offers very high hardness and wear resistance after heat treatment. It provides excellent edge retention and dimensional stability under high pressure. While D3 is less tough than some other tool steels, it is ideal for applications where wear resistance is the primary requirement and impact loads are limited.
Quality & Standards
Materials are processed and reviewed following standard procedures. Various checks are performed to assess general quality and consistency. Our products are throughly tested for grade D3. Lanoit Special Steel Industries is a recognized provider in the steel sector, known for supplying a wide range of steel products. The company works with experienced teams and standard practices to support reliable material availability.
